YHTC handheld pressure sources - manual hydraulic power source and micro-pressure hand pump

Handheld Pressure Source

A handheld pressure source is the fastest way to pressurise an instrument without a power supply, a compressor line or a bench. The YHTC handheld pressure source range covers six hand-operated units for hydraulic, air and micro-pressure work, from -50 kPa up to 70 MPa.

Every unit in the lineup is single-operator: one person pumps, one person reads, or the same person does both. Each model below links to its full specification page.

The Handheld Pressure Source Range at a Glance

Six configurations, grouped by medium:

  • TC168S — handheld hydraulic power source for 0~70 MPa, the highest-pressure unit in the range for heavy hydraulic test and calibration work.
  • YH168S — handheld hydraulic power source for 0~40 MPa, a lighter-duty companion for standard hydraulic checks.
  • TC166A — manual air pressure source covering -0.095~16 MPa, for pneumatic instruments that need both vacuum and overpressure steps.
  • TC166S — handheld air pressure source for -0.095~6 MPa, the everyday pneumatic unit.
  • TC166W — micro-pressure pump in two variants, -50~50 kPa and -50~250 kPa, for low-range sensors where a full-size pump is too coarse.

Why Handheld? Where Hand-Powered Sources Still Win

Benchtop and automatic systems are more comfortable, but a handheld pressure source has three advantages that a bench unit cannot copy:

  • It goes where the instrument is. Field checks, commissioning and OEM lines rarely put the pump next to the test point.
  • No power, no hoses, no setup. Crank the handle and the line is pressurised — the whole system is the one thing you carry.
  • It is the reference for the reference. Many labs keep a handheld unit to sanity-check the bench before a certification run.

If the same job must run all day, at volume, that is when you step up: see our benchtop pressure sources for the fixed-line versions, or the parent pressure test & calibration pumps category for the full family.

Typical Applications

Where a handheld pressure source earns its place:

  • Field service and commissioning of hydraulic equipment, where 0~70 MPa coverage means one unit per truck.
  • Pneumatic instrumentation: regulators, transmitters and switches checked at the panel, not in the lab.
  • Micro-pressure sensors — the TC166W’s kPa range is sized for the instruments that fail when pumped too hard.
  • OEM production verification before shipment, and as a portable second opinion in calibration labs.

For the traceability side of the workflow, NIST’s overview of pressure and vacuum calibrations is a plain-language reference for how these readings stay connected to national standards.

Quality and Support

Every handheld pressure source is manufactured by YHTC, an ISO 9001-certified pressure calibration equipment maker in Beijing. Each unit is cycled through its full range before packing and ships with a 12-month warranty.

Quick Questions

How hard is 70 MPa to pump?
The TC168S uses a lever and gear system so one operator can reach the top of the range; for sustained high-pressure work, the benchtop versions do the job with less effort.

Can one unit do vacuum and pressure?
Yes on the air side: the TC166A and TC166S both cover negative steps, and the TC166W micro-pressure pump works from -50 kPa upward.
